Blackened Chicken Taco Instructions

Skillet

In a cast iron skillet, turn to high with three to four tablespoons of olive oil. Once your cast iron skillet is smoking hot, you know you are ready. Sear chicken breasts on both sides for 1-2 minutes or until blackened. Once your chicken breasts have been blackened, remove from cast iron skillet and move to Pyrex baking dish.

Oven

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly butter Pyrex baking dish with 1-2 tablespoons of butter. Add your chicken breasts that have been blackened from cast iron skillet. Bake the chicken for 5 – 10 minutes or until the center of the chicken is no longer pink and the juice runs clear.

  • 4 skinless chicken breasts

  • 3 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 Tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 Tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 Tablespoon paprika
  • 1 Pinch Fresh Thyme
  • 1 Pinch Fresh (Dried) Basil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Marinating Chicken

  • Place ingredients into Zip-Lock bag and let it sit at least an hour. Overnight for best results.

  • 1 cup Organic Sour Creme (Wallaby Organic Sour Creme – WOW!!)
  • 1/4 Cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/4 Cup Avacado
  • 1/4 Cup Diced Tomato
  • 1/3 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp. Siracha (Siracha Mayo will work)
  • 3 tbsp./ 3 Pinches Cilantro
  • 1 fresh Lime & Zest
  • 1 tbsp. Cumin
  • Cayenne to spice
  • 1 tbsp. Garlic
  • 1 tbsp. Garlic Salt
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Pepper
  • 1 tbsp. Chili Power
  • Lime zest

  • Emulsify all ingredients until silky smooth

Star the Cast Iron Skillet with Bacon Fat

Add chicken to cast iron skillet on high heat for 1-2 minutes each side or until blackened.

After you are finished with the black chicken in the cast iron skillet, move the chicken to the buttered pyrex dish.
