Office Food Choices Suck – Pick something better
So we talked a little bit about how both Brenan and I work full time. Many times I forget to make myself lunch or grab left overs when I’m racing out the door.
Those of you that know me know that I’m always late 🙂
On top of that, the project I’m working on is a little over an hour away from our home. On top of that its in a somewhat industrial area and the only food choices are yep you guessed it vending machine or roach coach.
So I found this little bakery that serves their menu for the entire day so I can get delicious soup and salad on my way in and save it for lunch or snacks.
Today’s lunch we had a kale and sausage soup with TONS of veggies. Carrots, tomatoes, kale, mushrooms (my favorite) celery, barley, potatoes, and herbs.
I also got a delicious Chinese chicken salad with romaine lettuce, green and red cabbage, carrots, cilantro, peanuts with a super tummy sesame vinaigrette.
So while having lunch at your desk blows it’s nice to have a healthy alternative when you don’t have homemade food.
I’m always struggling with making healthy choices but I find that if I make sure to have good things in front of me it makes it way easier.
Next mission: try to duplicate the sausage kale soup with slightly organic ingredients at home!
Stay tuned.
