The toilet, after all, is not a place that most people consider to be particularly fun. You poop there. You wash your hands; you check in the mirror to make sure you’re decent enough to be seen. You try really hard to make sure no one smells what you just finished doing in there. And if there’s no denying the stench, you pretend it was the fault of the person before you.

  • 15 drops Sweet Orange essential oil
  • 15 drops Tangerine essential oil

  • 2 teaspoons vegetable glycerin
  • 1 small 4 ounce spray bottle

Distilled water

  2. Carefully add rubbing alcohol and vegetable glycerin. This helps the oils spread over the surface of the water instead of puddling in one spot when you spray it.
  3. Fill the bottle up the rest of the way with distilled water. You can also use tap water, but some metals and chemicals in tap water may interact with the essential oils.
  4. Screw on the lid, shake, and spray! This is also a great room spray, and it kills odor-causing bacteria so that the freshness lasts a long time.
