The Recipe for Tropical Island DIY Poo Pourri

Essential Oils for DIY Tropical Island Poo Pourri

You will need:

  • 15 drops Lemon Eucalyptus essential oil
  • 15 drops Sweet Orange essential oil
  • 15 drops Tangerine essential oil
  • 15 drops Cypress essential oil
  • 2 teaspoons rubbing alcohol
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable glycerin
  • 1 small 4 ounce spray bottle

Distilled water

  1. Carefully place essential oils in the bottom of the spray bottle. If you accidentally get more than exactly 15 drops of each scent, don’t worry. It will just smell better.
  2. Slowly mix in the rubbing alcohol and vegetable glycerin and swirl gently. The rubbing alcohol helps dilute the oils and makes them spread better over the surface of the water.
  3. Fill the bottle up the rest of the way with distilled water. You can also use tap water, but depending on your location some impurities in tap water might interact with the essential oils, which is why we recommend distilled water.
  4. Shake and spray!

How It Works

The oils in the poo spray disperse over the surface of the water, creating a fragrant barrier and releasing their good smells into the air. When you poop, the oils trap the poop smells under the water.

Yeah, you might notice a brief bit of smell in the split second it takes for the poop to fall from your butt to the water, but then it is gone. You get to keep your pride and dignity, because no one is ever going to smell your stinky poo again as long as you keep a poo spray bottle with you!
